First of all, a big thank to Jonas and his team from Volvo for hosting this three-day event in Gothenburg. We had a productive and exciting time there. The meeting was characterized by
• the great Volvo Trucks
• the Demonstrators and Prototypes shown and
• the very bad weather (at least at the beginning of the meeting)
The already available demonstrators and prototypes from each SP were in the focus of this meeting and presented to the DEWI consortium. Outside the meeting rooms the Volvo Trucks could be admired and the participants had the opportunity to watch the real-life demonstration of a Volvo heavy duty Truck as a platform for demonstrating a Wireless Sensor Network.
Furthermore, the usual meetings of the General Assembly, the Technical Board and the Strategic Board took place. Publications, status reports on (about) ongoing work, future planning, recent achievements and highlights as well as the partner’s exploitable foreground were also presented and discussed.
The nearly 80 participants also had the unique chance to visit Volvo’s assembly factory to make a tour through the factory with the TUVE Train, which drove through the production halls. Thereby the attendees had the opportunity to watch/ gain insights into the impressive production process of a Volvo Truck.
